I feel ashamed because it took me this long before I discovered this fine piece of musical tomfoolery. It’s like something out of my dreams. Darth Vader, the Dark Lord and Mic Meister of the Sith, takes on the Third Reich, Holocaust Head Honcho and Austrian Asshole Adolf Hitler! Place your bets! Watch the video after the jump.
San Diego Comic-Con 2011 has wrapped up and I can’t really say that it gave me a lot to get excited about. There wasn’t really an announcement or discussion that blew my mind. However, there are a few things that give me an undeniable geek boner. And of course, there’s this one little thing from Comic-Con that I absolutely love.
It’s NOT the announcement that Avengers Academy will be setting up shop on the west coast, but that’s cool too. Because you know who else is on the west coast? The Runaways. Yes, in my mind, the Runaways will inevitably be involved with — or they might even join — Hank Pym’s Avengers-in-training.
Every song can be an inspirational one. Even the most annoying song you have ever heard can mean something special for someone somewhere. This is my philosophy. Songs about life — yours in particular — can come from the most unlikely of places. They move you. They give meaning to your life at the moment or in general. They give life. These songs speak to you with their lyrics or their beats. Or maybe through their really pleasing music videos. With that said, here’s Ma Boy by Sistar19 — a song that speaks to me right now:
Cervical cancer is a bitch. The best way to slap that bitch in the face is through information. Whether you’re a chick or a dude, cervical cancer can ruin your life if you are not well-informed. All of us, chicks and dudes alike, need to arm ourselves with the Mighty Gauntlet of Cervical Cancer Awareness to protect our way of life from this bitch.
The Tour of Hope 2011, headed by Bravehearts, aims to spread awareness about cervical cancer by having bad-ass bikers ride through 500 kilometers in 5 days. The journey begins in Manila and ends in Laoag. Throughout the 5-day ride, Bravehearts and the participating bikers aim to raise funds for cervical cancer prevention vaccination drives and seminars.
Over at Patrick Goldstein’s LA Times blog, he let “a bunch of highly opinionated teenagers” review summer movie trailers with him. Pretty smart, right? I mean, most of the big summer blockbuster movies are aimed at the younger crowd. It’s only appropriate that we know what they think about upcoming flicks. NOT.
