Tumblr Is Now A Downr

Today, I celebrate the 3rd anniversary of my Tumblr blog. When I signed up for Tumblr in August 2007, I didn’t know what to do with my brand new Tumblr blog. For the first two years, I just used it to promote my blog entries from the blog you’re reading now, my defunct comics blog, my defunct Plurk themes blog and my defunct emo blog. I didn’t really use it to post stuff until April 2009.

STEVE HOLT!

It didn’t take long for me to start creating niche blogs for Dr. Doom, villains, lesbians and more. Of course, it also didn’t take long for me to shut them down and just do Tumblr blogging from one blog. The first few Tumblr blogs I followed were those of people from UPLB. It was Twitter on steroids and I loved it.

Are You the Catalyst to My Awakening?

It’s been a couple of weeks since Lost ended but I’m still not over it. I didn’t even enjoy seasons 3 and 4 of Lost, but those awakening scenes in the finale, where characters in Limbo started remembering their crazy time on The Island, well it just melted my face. The catalysts to their awakenings are people and events that are significant to them emotionally. It was beautiful to watch and I may have shed a tear or two. It got me thinking; what if I’m in Limbo? Who or what would trigger my flashbacks? Who or what would cause me to remember my life on Earth and eventually convince my heart and soul that I should finally let go and move on?

Obviously, family members are the prime suspects for all of us to remember some of the most significant events of our lives. It’s a given so I’m not going to discuss this possibility. Because it’s boring.

Is it you, First Girl I’ve Ever Fallen in Love With? We had a tragic love affair, didn’t we? Oh to be young and stupid.

It’s 4 AM and I’m at a McDonald’s, blogging about random shit.

I don’t know what I’m doing here. I just got up from a 2-hour sleep and went “It’s frickin’ hot. Fuck this shit, I’m going to McDonald’s in Emerald.” So maybe I do know why I’m here. I can’t sleep. Because it’s frickin’ hot at the apartment. Also, I blame a girl. It’s always about a girl, isn’t it?

At this hour, with little sleep, only random things can be blogged by my random brain. What does that even mean, “random brain”? Tss.

They’re playing Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus songs here. Beggars can’t be choosers.

I want a new name. Here’s a list of the names I’m considering:

Dr. Bloodfang McKickface
Laserwolf Deathplosion
Thunderfire Venomclaw
Bomber Satanblood
Hurricane Sharkpunch
Babyface Killswitch
Hellskull Gravetalon
Rocky St. Bazooka
Electroslash Supernova
Stabhammer Devilbone

Contemplating on Moving Back to Laguna

Recent realizations (I choose not to elaborate) made me contemplate on leaving our Pasig apartment and moving back to our house in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. A recent change in Pasig’s traffic rules (more on this later) made me seriously think about making the move. Of course, this is a personal blog, so I’m obliged to share the details of my brooding shenanigans. Maybe writing about it will give me a better understanding of my dilemma.

I wonder if Baddie notices that he never ever solves a problem by blogging about it.

THE PROS OF MOVING BACK TO LAGUNA

Free food and rent. Come on. It’s our house. My parents wouldn’t even think of charging me for my meals and the use of my own room. But I think I just gave them an idea. Dammit.

Wireless Internet access. One thing I sorely miss when I’m at the apartment is the Internet. Don’t get me wrong, I’m online the whole day at work, but I can’t dick around as much as I want when a lot of sites are blocked. I terribly miss torrenting shit every night too.

Looking for Love in Los Baños

Love Month

It’s normal during this time of year to look for love anywhere we think we can find it. Whether it’s the usual places where tired hearts thread or the strangest places where the quirkiest minds convene. In my case, it’s both.

I went to the last couple of nights of the UPLB Feb Fair and I looked for love. Like always, I found it all around me.

I looked upon lovers and the glimmer in their eyes as they celebrated Valentine’s Day in each other’s arms. The most common way to find love.

I looked upon old friends. I realized that I still have a lot of those. I met new friends too. Someday I hope to look upon them with as much glee as I have upon seeing my old ones. I may have met future lovers as well, but it’s too early to tell. How exciting.

I looked upon the old places I used to frequent. Campus buildings, restaurants, bars, apartments, parking lots, roads, patches of grass, and dark corners. All reminded me of how I loved staying in the university and how I love coming back to visit.
