The 5th week of the Great DC Reboot of 2011 has come and gone. Now that I’ve read all 52 new #1 issues, I can finally say that overall, I was disappointed. But I was also pleased. There are enough interesting books in this pile of new issues to make me declare that the whole thing was not as horrible as I thought it would be. Let me take you through the last batch of new #1 issues as I group them in YES, MEH and BOO piles.

It’s the third week of the DC Reboot and so far, I’m still on the fence with this whole New 52 thing. Last week, I put the second wave of DC’s new #1 issues in 3 categories: YES, MEH and BOO. I had 5 titles in the YES group, 5 titles in the MEH group and 3 titles in the pathetic BOO group. This week, I pretty much stick to those numbers. Let’s start with the comics that didn’t suck.

SPOILERS AHOY! The DC Reboot is upon us with the arrival of Justice League #1 by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. It’s been touted as the introduction to the new DC Universe and it’s pretty obvious that this is mainly targeted at people who are unfamiliar with comics. It’s not a coincidence that the first two members of the Justice League we see (Batman and Green Lantern) are the most recognizable ones, thanks to recent films.
The first problem I see here is that Batman talks too much. It’s the first time he meets Green Lantern and they immediately act like they’re in some buddy cop movie. He’s an urban legend so shouldn’t he be all mysterious or something? I guess that’s just how Geoff Johns rolls when it comes to the Bat. At least we get some pretty nifty action scenes like the part where Green Lantern punches an alien with a firetruck construct.

Hi. I’m selling some of my comics. No, I’m not quitting comics altogether. I’m just trying to get rid of the stuff I’m not emotionally attached to while trying to get more cash for more comics. I’m not done going through my collection to see which comics I can sell, but I already have a first batch ready for selling. Single issues in this batch include:
- Batman #666 – featuring Damian Wayne as Trench Coat Batman
- Batman #676-681 – all 6 Batman R.I.P. issues of the Batman title
- Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special – the first part of the Sinestro Corps War
- Green Lantern #21-25 – all 5 Sinestro Corps War issues of the Green Lantern title
- X-Men: Manifest Destiny #5 – misprint; interior is actually X-Men/Spider-Man #3 LOL!
For the full list and complete info about pricing and how to contact me, please see my Comics For Sale page. I’ll be adding more comics to this list in the coming days. Or weeks. Too many comics, not enough room. Comic collector problems.

Ah, yes. The great DC Comics Reboot of 2011. It’s been the talk of the comics Internet town for the last couple of days and there’s a multiverse of questions waiting to be answered. The entire line of DC comic books is going to be relaunched in September with all-new #1 issues — 52 in total. I doubt all the questions of fans, retailers, creators and other publishers will be answered immediately, but it wouldn’t hurt if I wonder out loud. Let’s begin with the most important question in my mind right now.
