Tales of Inebriation with Uncle Baddie #1

It seems my Annual Depression Downward Spiral, the time of year I become depressed like an orphaned emo kid with cancer for no apparent reason (humor me), is starting early this year. Must have been triggered by Cory Aquino’s death (again, humor me).

I only have two weapons against depression: 1) someone who’s willing to listen to my rubbish and 2) alcohol. I don’t have #1 right now so, last night, I fought off depression with #2 at Sidebar, El Pueblo with a small group of friends.

There was this hot chick who totally rocked the hot librarian/teacher/secretary look at the table next to ours. I was totally falling in love with her. I was sure she was soooo into me too and we were having the time of our lives with our little “I am soooo totally into youuuu” staring contests (remember, I was drunk).

And then she started singing. And then she started talking loudly. And then she went to our table, put her hands around my girl friend’s shoulders, and asked for our names. She was like a drunk Marian Rivera. Only less hot.

Respite from Depression City ended immediately after one of her friends dragged her away into the restroom. You gotta love Monday night drinks.

Cory Aquino: Icon of Democracy

Please allow me this short blog entry so I can pay my respects to the former Philippine president, Cory Aquino.

Corazon Aquino: Icon of Democracy

This is what I really see her as. She’s not just an old woman who wears yellow a lot. She was a symbol of peace, truth and hope. She was a beacon of faith. She was a mother to a nation. She is the face of the EDSA Revolution. She is a worldwide icon of democracy. And that’s why she has my undying respect.
