My Dubious New Year’s Resolutions

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions several years ago, right around the time I realized planning is not one of my strengths. This year, although it’s a bit late for this kind of thing, I’m making a list of things I’d like to resolve. I’m fully aware that I’m not capable of following through with these resolutions, but at least I can say that I made some kind of effort. Let me begin by saying that I resolve to use Photoshop regularly, even if I’ll just create dumb things like this:

Delirium

This is to hopefully improve my Photoshop skills. I’m not doing this to impress the ladies — and we all know the ladies find Photoshop skills sexy — but to help myself reach my goal for this year, which is to have a web design portfolio that people would actually take seriously.

I Used To Draw Stuff: A Peek Into My High School Senior Mind

Back in grade school, I started to draw sketch doodle a lot. It became a hobby. I wasn’t very good at it but I had enough skills to join art contests and not totally suck at it. I joined art contests and other academic battles for supremacy just for the experience. OK, I lied. I did it so I could legally skip class. Believe it or not, I actually won a couple of art contests. It was totally retarded. After high school, though, I lost interest in drawing shit.

Recently, I got a hold of a picture of one of my stupid drawings courtesy of my former girlfriend. Back in my senior year, when we were still a couple, I borrowed her sketchpad and I doodled some stuff in it.

Welcome to the mind of High School Senior Baddie:

I don’t remember exactly why I drew these things. I can’t even remember what some of these things are, but let me try to make sense of it all:

DVD Library #13: Heroes Season 1 5-Disc Set

This entry is part 12 of 17 in the series DVD Library

heroes season 1

It’s the last day of DVD Week and I’ve decided to make it special. So far, I’ve featured movies on DVD. It’s time to unleash the first TV show on this stupid blog series. Ladies and gents, Heroes Season 1!

Stupid crickets. Anyhoo, I have longed to watch episodes of the first season of Heroes as a single cohesive unit for months, and thanks to my former girlfriend (a topic for another time), I’ll long no more.

Face Rockery

I’m suffering from a weird face thingie right now, but I’m not in the mood to talk about it in detail since I’m just starting to recover. I’m hoping to fully recover from this stupid thingie ASAP. Although this thingie has been the most unpleasant and most uncomfortable shit that has happened to me since… forever, something good came out of it.

See, when this thingie started, I became more anti-social than usual. For the last several days, it was just one big home-office-home cycle for me. Even online, I’m always not in the mood to talk to people, so most of the time, I’m off YM and Twitter. This gave me more time to do other stuff like working and putting up a new blog. Yes, you got me. The bottom line of this post is to tell you that I have a new blog.

This new blog is called Face Rockery (http://facerockery.bigbaddie.com). It’s a niche blog where I talk about my mistress: comic books and all things related to sequential art. I also yak about other forms of pop culture once in a while. I already tried this whole niche blog shit before, but I ended up quitting it. This time, I’m in it for the long haul.
