X-23: Target X #6

x-23: target x

I picked up the X-23: Target X mini-series for 2 reasons: 1.) the art looks top notch, and 2.) I’ve always wanted to know what the deal is with this Wolverine clone, Laura (a.k.a. X-23). I saw her first appearance on X-Men: Evolution and I immediately found her interesting. Yes, the character made her debut on the animated series, like Firestar did on Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to read her comic book appearances until this mini-series came along. And as my introduction to X-23, it ain’t bad. It’s awesome.

Weekly Haul #5: R.I.P. Cap

This entry is part 5 of 12 in the series Weekly Haul

r.i.p. captain america

When Superman “died”, everybody knew it was a marketing strategy. When Captain America “died” last week in the pages of Captain America #25, it was mostly seen as a social commentary. The death of a fictional character made headlines all over the U.S. and hundreds of bloggers gave their piece. Time to give mine. It’s so frakkin’ brilliant! Newer Avengers

newer avengers

The new roster of the New Avengers has been revealed. Some hate it because it’s not the “real” Avengers. People, things doesn’t always have to be the way they were when you were 12, okay? The fun part of reading comics is that characters change, team rosters change, the over-all direction of a monthly series change. The status quo needs to be shaken up once in a while to keep things interesting and fresh. Quit whining.

Some people do love the new roster that includes Echo, Ronin, Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Spider-Woman, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and that Peter Parker dude. It’s definitely not the “classic” Avengers. This group will apparently be formed as per Captain America‘s wishes after Civil War ends. Cap’s fate will probably be decided in the last issue of Civil War, where he’ll probably die or give up being a costumed hero. Or maybe he’ll become too emo after Civil War and begin to wear another costume like, say, Ronin’s.
