In my world, no form of entertainment is better than a good movie in surround sound and in widescreen. I actually prefer to watch movies at home, but it doesn’t hurt to see a big-budget summer blockbuster at the theater with “movie buddies”. I love a whole lot of movies, but there’s a select few that I highly regard as “awesome cinematic movie films”. Yeah, I know. Stupid term. I hate it when I’m just padding an introduction paragraph.

#5: Meet the Parents - I love De Niro comedies. Not that there’s a lot of them, but I love them nonetheless. And the best of the bunch is this one with Ben Stiller. I mean, come on. Any movie with a lead character named “Gaylord Focker” should be in everybody’s “funniest movies” list. I can watch this a gajabillion times, and I won’t get tired of the ridiculous yet scary scenes. I say “scary” since they play with my fear of meeting my future wife’s parents and relatives.

#4: The Girl Next Door - OK I admit I can be a sucker for good romantic comedies sometimes, but this one’s my favorite. The chick’s hot. The story brings nostalgic episodes. Nice soundtrack. And did I mention the chick’s hot? Yeah, I’m a huge Elisha Cuthbert fan. If I’ll be given a chance, I’ll bring her to one of those San Diego hotels and… okaaaay. I stop now.

OK let me go pervy on your asses for this post. After all, it’s a well known fact that I’m a comic book geek, and it’s scientifically proven that 99.9999% of all comic book geeks love hot women. And there’s also a scientific study that 99.9999% of hot women don’t like comic book geeks. It’s true. That golden unicorn with pixie dust coming out of its ass showed me a copy of the white papers.

#5: Jessica Alba - The only reason I watched Into the Blue is Ms. Alba. I had a huge crush on her ever since I saw her on the Flipper TV series. And although both film and comic critics choke at the mere mention of the Fantastic Four movie, and despite she was naked only when she was invisible, I still love her as the Invisible Woman.

#4: Elisha Cuthbert - I don’t usually drool over blondes, but Elisha is an exception. She’s got that bombshell quality that will make you not care if she’s all natural or if she went through a Chicago cosmetic surgery. In fact, I’m not even sure if she had things done. And I don’t give a shit. She’s hot!

For this post, I’m going tech geeky on you folks. I’ve been in love with WordPress and its multitude of plug-ins ever since I first tried to be cool by creating my own WordPress-powered blog. So for this Top 5 Lists post, I’m going to give you my top 5 favorite WordPress plug-ins. Yeah, the stuff that the blogger in me can’t live without.

#5: Admin Dropdown Menu - It may seem useless at first, but when it’s crunch time and you need to go to a lot of different places in your WordPress administration panel, Admin Dropdown Menu saves you a lot of clicks and time. Seriously, it makes using the admin side a lot more easy and efficient.

#4: WordPress Database Backup - Another seemingly “redundant” plug-in since you can just go into whatever software you’re using to manage your database to back it up, but like Admin Dropdown Menu, this makes things easier. You can do the backup right in the admin side and you can choose which tables you can backup in addition to the core database WordPress tables. Sweet.

Yeah, Graphic Fiction is just a glorified term for comics, but who cares? We can even call it Graphic Literature. Meh. I started reading comics way back in 1994. Or was it 1993? Whatever. The point is, I’ve been a comic book geek for more than a decade now and I’ve read a lot of the best that the industry can offer. As a true fan of the medium, it’s hard to pick just 5 great pieces of comic book goodness from the dozens of stories I’ve read, but I managed to do it.

#5: Identity Crisis - It’s probably the most disturbing superhero story I’ve ever read. Also, the most touching. Written by Brad Meltzer, this spandex drama involves rape, murder, witch hunts, triumph, and great loss. One gripe I have about it, though, is that Superman cries. Again.

#4: Y: The Last Man - Although I’ve only read the first three volumes of the collected editions, I still hold it in the highest regards. It doesn’t involve superheroes, but it does involve a global catastrophe, a reluctant everyman hero, a monkey, and lesbians. I can’t wait to read the rest of the story. Curse local comic shops for not having copies of volumes 4 onwards! Bah.

This is the last post of my Top 5 Lists series, and instead of giving you a lame list of… oh wait. This is also lame, so whatever. I’m going to talk about miscellaneous stuff that mean a lot to me. You know, material things. Things that make me realize that not being squatter-poor totally rocks!

#5: My digital camera - I’ve always been a big fan of taking pictures of myself, my friends, and the things around me. It’s only natural that the first “big” purchase I did with my own money was my Casio Exilim camera. It’s sleek and the picture quality is fantastic. It’s now a necessity for me to bring it to any trip or gathering. There’s nothing more nostalgic than looking at pictures of your drunk friends. Good times.

#4: My Playstation 2 - It’s the ultimate time killer. Got a long weekend ahead of you and you’ve got nothing to do? Fire up the PS2 and play some awesome games with kick-ass graphics. Got a hot friend coming over and you can’t think of topics for intelligent conversation? Turn on the Ps2 and watch a romantic comedy DVD. It’s a lifesaver.
