Yes, the title is a reference to Free Speech Publications’  This Journal Will Actually Change Your Life!!! planner. Yes, I have one. And yes, I’m writing a journal this year.

Now, before you say writing journals is only reserved for 15-year old girls who can’t get enough of Hannah Montana and that cute young boy who sparkles like Edward Cullen, let me just tell you that keeping a log of one’s daily minutia and significant events alike is also something that real men do. Renaissance man Leonardo da Vinci kept a journal. Presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald also kept a journal. Hell, even the great captain of the USS Enterprise Jean-Luc Picard kept one.

Yep. I’m in good company.

I’ve been staying away from memes since I can’t say NO to them. It’s like a sickness, really. Whenever people tag me, I’m like “GODDAMMIT!!!” and then I’m like “YAY HEEHEE!” I even dedicated a category on this blog for quizzes and memes. Don’t judge me! This is a photo of myself with some of my brothers and sisters in UPLB MASS taken in December 2004 at UPLB’s Carabao Park. After an org activity, we decided to just dick around the park and bask in the simple beauty of a cool December evening while being surrounded by Christmas lights and friends. It was just us, the trees, the stars, the lights, and the pond. That was what being in UP Los Baños meant to me. Simple joys. Complex relationships. All under the warm shadow of Oble.

Along with a group of UP bloggers, we have come up with a special project for the UP Centennial Month this coming June. It’s called “UP@100: Capturing 100 UP Moments“ - It is a Music Video Project which will compile 100 photos and videos from participants consisting UP alumni and students. It aims to capture 100 unique UP moments from 100 different points of view in the past 100 years of the University’s existence.
