I Hate the Unaired Wonder Woman Pilot Because It’s Actually Not That Bad

I hate to admit it but I was wrong. I was one of those people who didn’t believe Adrianne Palicki would make a great Wonder Woman. I hated the teaser images with Palicki in costume. I didn’t believe Wonder Woman would translate well on TV without being corny and campy (sorry, Lynda Carter fans). I was wrong. Thanks to the magic of the Internet, I saw the unaired Wonder Woman pilot and I realized that I was so wrong.

Unaired Wonder Woman Pilot

My biggest gripe about the pilot during production was the costume. When I saw the first images of Palicki donning the Wonder Woman costume, I felt so much hate for it. I hated how it was all shiny and not Wonder Woman-y enough. I still didn’t like it when I saw the pilot but it actually looked good in some of the action scenes. I still have so much hate for the tiara, though.

27 Awkward X-Men the Animated Series Screencaps

I’m re-watching all 5 seasons of X-Men the Animated Series because it’s my favorite Marvel animated series of all time. Aside from the nostalgia it brings with every corny line and generic cartoon voice, it beats the rest of the animated offerings throughout the years by sticking very closely to comics canon. From costume designs to character relationships, it’s the closest TV show to the X-Men comics we’ve ever had. Well, at least to the X-Men comics of the 90′s.

I’m having way too much fun reliving my childhood and the era of comics when big guns and unnecessary pouches were considered awesome. I’m not leaving you guys out of the fun, though. For your amusement, I took 27 awkward screencaps from the second season of X-Men the Animated Series. But before I present the gallery to you, here are some suggestions on how you can make use of the screencaps:

My 15 Favorite Moments in Conan’s First Week

Today, Conan O’Brien finishes his second week on his new TBS show “Conan”. That’s why it’s time to take a look at his first week. I know it doesn’t make sense, but hey, it’s the Internet. Anyhoo, so far, I like what I’m seeing.  Somehow, “Conan” feels like a marriage between The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Everything feels bigger and more prestigious, plus he has a wider audience now, which Conan had in his short Tonight Show run. But things are more relaxed and, well, very Conan-y. The main thing I love about Conan is his self-deprecating humor, and now that he’s on basic cable, which is more or less a demotion for someone who just came from network TV, he is seemingly once again the underdog. This means self-deprecation-based hilarity galore! I may have mourned the passing of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, but I didn’t think for a second that it was the end of the road for Conan and his trusted sidekick, Andy Richter. With that said, I think Conan’s first week back was awesome. Not groundbreaking, but awesome nonetheless. Here are my 15 favorite moments from his first week:

High School of the Dead: Not Just T&A

At first glance, High School of the Dead seems like animated softcore porn with zombies. It’s full of gratuitous shots of boobs and butts. But if you look past bouncing tits and spread crotches, you will see a George Romero zombie movie infused with anime elements. That’s right. I said it. If George Romero made an anime zombie movie, it would look something like High School of the Dead.

BOOBS!

The same social commentary found in George Romero zombie movies is found here. You just have to dig deeper and get past the T&A. Once you realize that this is more than just a series of scenes with a pair of large breasts kicking zombie ass, you can appreciate the fact that you are watching human nature in an apocalyptic scenario. You will then start asking yourself how you would react when zombies suddenly emerge and plunge the world into utter chaos.

7 Magnificent Moments in the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

My current TV watching habits are limited to news programs and Discovery Travel & Living, which is now known as TLC. So forgive me if I don’t care much about most of the results of the recently concluded Primetime Emmy Awards. However, I did find some moments of the show very amusing.

Born to ROCK.

That opening skit was definitely the highlight of the show. You got Fallon, Fey, Lynch, Hamm, the Glee kids, that chick from the Vampire Diaries and Hurley singing and dancing and letting everyone know that it’s not going to be the same old dull awards show from years past. It just set the tone for the rest of the night. Well, at least for the entire Comedy section of the awards.
