By now, most of us have already seen the awesome extended version of the Avengers movie Super Bowl XLVI ad. Actually, I just finished watching it for the 17th time and I have a few thoughts (other than HOLY CRAP IT’S ONLY THREE MONTHS AWAY). Three thoughts to be exact:

1. Producer Kevin Feige keeps insisting that the Skrulls are not in the movie while the Internet says he’s a big fat liar. I think they don’t look like Skrulls but only because they’re not green. Can’t really see the details but they kind of look like giant alien barbarians. The Badoon, maybe? Maybe they’re creatures from any of the 9 realms, recruited by Loki or some other big baddie to dick around with Earth. I could care less which alien race this is as long as they look good — and by “good” I mean “nasty”.

“ALIENS ASSEMBLE! If we are indeed aliens.”

2. I just love the fact that Tony Stark is talking about the name of their little superhero club while enjoying a little drink in front of Loki. I think this is right before the God of Mischief chokeslams Tony through the window.

3. THE HULK PUNCHES A JET. YES.

I don’t know about you but at this point, what I feel about this movie is exactly what Kristen Bell feels about sloths. I’d probably shake and cry on my way to the theater.

If you haven’t seen the ad yet, here you go:

I don’t want to use the word “perfection” when describing Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol but I’m going to do it anyway: It is perfection.

Brad Bird and his well-choreographed chaos. Tom Cruise and his insane stunts. Jeremy Renner and his “I’m just an analyst. No, I’m kidding. I’m actually an emotionally tortured secret agent who kicks ass. BOO-YAH!” shenanigans. Paula Patton and her sexy vengeance-based intensity. Léa Seydoux and her sexy assassin-y ways. Simon Pegg and his wacky field adventures. PERFECTION.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie that literally had me holding my breath. Best action movie of 2011, you guys. And on a final note, Paula Patton can light my fuse anytime.

I have The Glitch Mob remix of the White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army on repeat all morning thanks to the first G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer. I can’t say I’m more excited to see it than I was with the first Joe movie because there’s no Baroness, but hey, it looks a bit less cartoony. It features The Rock, TV Wonder Woman That Never Was, Bruce frickin’ Willis and Fat Channing Tatum. So far, it looks like there’s no goofy comic relief guy. Just the way I like my goofy movies based on ’80s cartoons.

And in case you missed it, the trailer for Men In Black 3 dropped yesterday. As far as I can tell, there will still be aliens and wacky Will Smith one liners. But this time, there’s time travel! So that’s interesting. My favorite part about the trailer, though, is Josh Brolin as young Agent K. It’s like he was born to play Young Tommy Lee Jones.

Bottom line is that the Avengers movie may not be the only movie I can’t wait to see in 2012.

I’ve always been a sucker for cut scenes in video games, so Tekken: Blood Vengeance is pure eye candy for me. It pretty much has all characters looking like their video game selves and it’s such a treat to see them in a story that basically echoes the video game mythos. Unlike that Americanized live action bastard Tekken movie. I like it for the action but man, it just wasn’t Tekken-y enough. I mean, every time I see Live Action Heihachi, all I could think about is “Dude, that’s Live Action Shang Tsung.”

Your soul is mine!

There’s plenty of action and T&A here so HIGH FIVES ALL AROUND! But the T&A shots aren’t gratuitous, which I’m kind of thankful for. There are enough cute and genuinely bad ass moments here to justify minimal panty shots and jiggling breasts. Don’t get me wrong, though. The way these girls look, I wouldn’t mind seeing more suggestive scenes like this one:

Or maybe it’s just suggestive to me. Because I watch too much porn.

Now let’s get popping with this list which contains spoilers. SPOILERS I SAY! Let’s start with the explosive opening scene with the Sisters Williams:

Anna vs. Nina

You know you’re watching an awesome movie if the opening scene involves explosions and some hot sister-on-sister action. This initial fight scene sets the stage for brutal punches, kicks and submission holds peppered throughout the rest of the movie. Too bad it didn’t last long, though.

More girl-on-girl action

Like any good team-up in a genre movie, you have to have your buddies come to blows for a while for some drama. In this case, we have two teenage girls duking it out because it turns out they’re working for two opposing groups. Explosions and flying kicks and chainsaws, oh my! Also, one of them is a robot.

Rocket-powered Panda

That’s Ling Xiaoyu and Alisa Bosconovitch riding Panda who’s running on water. Probably the best escape sequence I’ve seen this year. It’s made 10x more awesome because of Panda’s happy face.

FAMILY CLUSTERFUCK

It’s a triple threat match between Kazuya, Jin and Grandpa BAMF, Heihachi! It’s brutal and fast-paced. It’s like Dragonball Z meets UFC here, you guys. However, I’m kind of bummed because this is the only scene where we see any of them in action. Actually, this is the first time we see Heihachi “in the flesh”. But this triple threat match makes up for the generally girl-on-girl action movie. Not that I’m complaining that we only see Xiaoyu, Alisa, Nina and Anna in the first 90% of the movie.

SKYROCKET SUPER PUNCH!

Visually, this is the best part of the film. You just can’t see this bit without going “That’s bad ass, yo.” At this point in the movie, I’m already going “What the hell is going on?!” The main event brawl is one giant mess of shouting, explosions, crying and punching. I guess this is your typical video game storyline. But it doesn’t really bother me because this scene right here with Alisa? It’s the hero shot of the entire movie and it just looks spectacular. Even if she’s just half the woman she used to be.

OK, maybe I’m selling these scenes too much. Actually, in any other movie, these 5 moments would just be OK. In Tekken: Blood Vengeance, though, you will get to ignore the generic video game plot and the lack of face-melting fight scenes thanks to the eye candy.

These army boys look like they’re shooting at either something that’s flying (a Skrull ship, maybe?) or something that’s really huge. Judging from the lasers in the latter part of the trailer, it’s probably a ship.

I have to admit, my favorite part of the trailer is the one where a bunch of cars get blown up. That’s a lot of explosions and I hope there’s more in the actual movie. For a moment there, I actually thought I was watching a trailer for a Transformers film.

She’s so hot.

Loki has been captured and he has that�mischievous smile on his face. We all know�that you can’t just capture a Norse god and take him into a holding facility like some kind of street thug who deals drugs to children. Something’s going on and things don’t look good for the folks at S.H.I.E.L.D.

Dude is wearing a Black Sabbath shirt. So meta.

A short testosterone showdown between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers gives us comics fans something to squeal about. Thoughts of Civil War immediately come to mind.

Now we know that Samuel L. Motherfuckin’ Jackson is not just going to stand around and look cool in this movie. I have no problem with seeing Nick Fury just barking orders but it’s good to see that he’s taking part in some of the action.

This is either the obligatory heroes-punching-each-other-because-of-a-misunderstanding-but-they’ll-eventually-team-up scenario or one of them is a Skrull. Or maybe they just don’t like each other very much. Whatever’s going on here, I’m still stoked because HOLY CRAP, WE’RE ACTUALLY GOING TO SEE THOR FIGHTING CAPTAIN AMERICA ON THE BIG SCREEN.

I know, it’s blurry. But in this part of the trailer, it looks like Loki just chokeslammed Tony Stark through a window of a skyscraper. Cool.

The CGI quality looks similar to what we’ve seen in Incredible Hulk, but this one actually looks more detailed. The Hulk actually looks like Mark Ruffalo!

Based on this initial trailer, we can expect plenty of action and some pretty entertaining interaction between the characters. Needless to say, I can’t wait to see the movie. May 4th can’t come quick enough. You can bet your ass I’ll be shouting “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!” in the theater and I will not apologize for it.
