Today being my birthday, the only gift I’m asking from you guys is that you take what I have to offer you: your motivation for the week.

Voting for the Bloggers’ Choice Award of the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards is now open! Because I’m sheep, I initially thought “Hey, Lauren, Pau, and Ade have already voted for Mikey, I guess I’ll have to vote for him too because, you know, I’m sheep.” I planned on just collecting a bunch of Mikey’s retarded photos (well, EXTRA retarded because most of his photos are already retarded) and putting stupid captions on them that would make him look more retarded, but I thought maybe I should have a better reason for voting for him other than me being sheep. Also, I’m trying to spite Bim. After smoking a couple of cigarettes while giving the smoking area ladies the sexy look, I figured it out: I’m voting for Mike Villar because I BELIEVE IN MIKE VILLAR.

I believe that he’s giving the world the greatest gift of them all: The Gift of LOLs. His humor flies right over some people’s heads, and it even offends some people to the point where they feel that they need to “retaliate”. If you get what he’s trying to say, though, you’d be in for a LOLing good time.

I believe that he saves us from feeling bad about ourselves. We may think that our jobs suck balls. We may think that our relationships are doomed to fail. We may think that the sum total of our existence approximately amounts to NOTHING. All you need to do is read his blog and you’ll realize that your life isn’t as screwed up as you think it is. Also, you don’t masturbate in public.

I believe that he is not sheep like the rest of us. HE’S A WOLF! HE’S A FRICKEN WOLF WHO WILL DEVOUR OUR SOULS ONE DAY WHEN WE’RE NOT LOOKING! He blazes his own trails. He creates his own paths. He’s a pioneer.

San Miguel Oktoberfest 120 (Siento Bente!) was officially launched on September 5th, 2008. It was my first Oktoberfest launch and it was very… interesting, to say the least. Why? I’LL TELL YOU WHY!

Had a couple of beers with Bim and Mike at Sidebar after we got our complimentary (I’m living the dream!) tickets from Juned (Thanks, Juned and Fritz!). Yes, we drank beer to warm up for an event that’s all about drinking beer. That’s how we roll.

Bim and Lauren had the foresight to not enter the event premises and wade through a sea of sweaty emo kids, fat drunkards, and tattoed punks. Mike and I didn’t. We navigated an ocean of sweat, unpleasant body odor, and inappropriate body contact. It wasn’t pretty. On the plus side, I got to touch a few nice female butts.

This is a photo of myself with some of my brothers and sisters in UPLB MASS taken in December 2004 at UPLB’s Carabao Park. After an org activity, we decided to just dick around the park and bask in the simple beauty of a cool December evening while being surrounded by Christmas lights and friends. It was just us, the trees, the stars, the lights, and the pond. That was what being in UP Los Baños meant to me. Simple joys. Complex relationships. All under the warm shadow of Oble.

But enough about me and my nostalgia. I’m writing this post to invite you to share your UP photos that show how special UP is to you. Not only will you be sharing your UP moments, you will also get the chance to win face-rocking prizes!

I didn’t go to the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, but thanks to the magic of the Internets, I got all the news and ridiculous photos of ridiculous people in ridiculous costumes from the event that I needed. And then some. It took me a couple of days to rummage through my bookmarks and feeds, but I eventually singled out 10 news items that made my balls sweaty with geeky anticipation. Here be the list:

1. Agents of Atlas Ongoing Series! My mancrush on Jeff Parker began when I was awesomed deeply by the Agents of Atlas mini-series back in 2006. My love for AoA has been well documented (Love & War, 2006 Awesome List, Lantern of Doom!, Agents of Atlas, Top 5 Lists #9 of 10: Graphic Fiction, and Giant-Size Rockery), so it goes without saying that I am extremely happy to learn that I’ll be getting my dose of AoA monthly starting early 2009.
