Avengers vs. X-Men. AVENGERS. VERSUS. X-MEN. I don’t know about you but those three words are tickling my soul right now. I love the interaction between the two teams in Avengers: Children’s Crusade even if they didn’t actually get into an all out brawl. Just the promise of these two teams who have gone through hell in the past few years coming to blows is enough to feed the comic book violence monster in me. But this? THIS? A 12-issue event that actually promises a fight between the teams in its own title? This is perfection.
I hope there’s no villain involved. Except for the threat of the Phoenix Force, I don’t want anything else to force the Avengers and the X-Men to fight each other. I’m pretty sure they’ll team up towards the end but for the majority of the series, I want to see all out war between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Children of the Atom. I want to see shields flying, eye beams shooting and Namor’s royal fists punching. And honestly, I’ll be rooting for the X-Men even if they turn out to be the bigger dicks in this story. Because we all know Cyclops is the biggest dick of them all.
You know who I'm curious about? Storm. Isn't there a rumor (if it hasn't happened yet) that she'll be joining the Avengers?
I think that's already confeeermed. Things are going to get interesting with her, Wolverine and Beast.
