Today is some sort of milestone in my life. Today is my 30th birthday. I’m not going to throw a big party. I think. What I’m sure of is I’m going to “celebrate” it on this blog. But instead of writing a sappy entry thanking all the people who have made the past 30 years awesome for me — or an entry composed entirely of animated GIFs featuring drunk people dancing sexily — I thought I should just highlight 30 things from my 30 years of existence that I absolutely love. They will basically tell you what and who I am thankful for. In no particular order:

1. Aquaman from Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

2. Father of the Bride Part II. What.

3. Science books for kids.

4. Professional Wrestling. Particularly when people get kicked IN THE FACE.

5. EXPLOSIONS! Whether it’s in mainstream comics, cheap TV shows or Michael Bay movies, I enjoy explosions a lot.

6. When it rains and I don’t get wet.

8. American Beauty.

9.�UPLB: The Land of Beer and Honeys.

10. My family. Sometimes, we’re the Brady Bunch. Sometimes, we’re the Simpsons.

12. The X-Men. Whether it’s TV shows, movies, comics or inappropriate merchandise, if mutants are involved, I’m there.
