Today is some sort of milestone in my life. Today is my 30th birthday. I’m not going to throw a big party. I think. What I’m sure of is I’m going to “celebrate” it on this blog. But instead of writing a sappy entry thanking all the people who have made the past 30 years awesome for me — or an entry composed entirely of animated GIFs featuring drunk people dancing sexily — I thought I should just highlight 30 things from my 30 years of existence that I absolutely love. They will basically tell you what and who I am thankful for. In no particular order:

1. Aquaman from Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
2. Father of the Bride Part II. What.
3. Science books for kids.

I’m a week late on this post thanks to some snag with my hosting service, an awesome weekend with the girlfriend and a relatively awesome couple of days working. But hey, there’s still time for me to rip into the fourth week of the DC Reboot so let’s get it on. As usual, let’s start with the YES group. I will definitely pick up the #2 issues of these books.

My copy of DC Comics Year By Year: A Visual Chronicle has arrived! I won it from GeekOut.ph’s contest and the timing of it all is just perfect. What better time to receive a book that chronicles the DC Comics Universe from 1935 all the way to 2010 than my birthday week? Yes, in a few days, I’ll be celebrating my 30th birthday. It’s nice to know that as I reminisce about my own experiences year by year, I can also see major DC developments for each of those years.

Among all the new shows from the Fall TV season line up, The Playboy Club was the one I anticipated the most. I’ve been reading a lot of comparisons between this show and Showgirls and Mad Men, a movie and a TV show that are both very close to my heart. That’s why I expected a lot of cat fighting, sex and classy 60′s shenanigans. Unfortunately, it didn’t have a lot of those. But hey, AMBER HEARD.
It’s not as sexy as Showgirls and it doesn’t have the compelling retro feel of Mad Men, but it does have potential. Also, mobsters. So yes, this means I’ll be back for more. I’m eager to see where it goes from this decent pilot. Because I love the 60′s. And mobsters. And Amber Heard. Speaking of Amber Heard, here are 6 GIFs I made just because.

I still think that Money in the Bank is the best 2011 WWE PPV so far but Night of Champions has its amusing moments. It was slightly disappointing mostly because some matches had unsatisfying endings while others just didn’t have impact. If you still haven’t seen it and you can’t wait for the replay, here be spoilers.
Air Boom v. The Miz & R-Truth
As usual, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne amazes. The Miz and R-Truth aren’t too shabby either. Unfortunately, the match ends in a DQ which is the most annoying way to end a match next to a count-out. Air Boom retains the Tag Team Championship. Miz and Truth beat up a ref.
