Hey. Guess what. I finished my Project 365! I didn’t miss a day! For someone who rarely finishes anything, especially when there’s no tangible benefit at stake, this is HUGE. I was pretty convinced that I would only make it to February 2010, but as you can see in my last few photos, I made it all the way to December. Hence the Christmas tree pictures and the sad self-portraits.

I said last year when I started this project that I was doing it for documentation, hoping to learn a few things on the side. I successfully documented my entire 2010 and yes, I did learn a few things from taking one photo per day for an entire year. I learned a few things about photography, photo editing and myself.
I learned that no matter how good you think your angle is, you can always do better. That’s the beauty of photography. You can have one subject and you can tell hundreds of tales about and with it just by using different angles. Also, it’s not just about picking an interesting subject. It also involves discovering what makes your subject interesting. Lighting and perspective are also photography concepts that I learned about. Looking at all 365 photos, I can definitely say I need to learn more about those concepts. LOL?
I will never claim to be an expert in Photoshop, or even an experienced user of this super awesome software. However, I did learn a few new techniques that make photo editing more efficient. Some of those techniques even helped improve a lot of my photos. Discovering new tools that I normally don’t pay attention to and new ways of using the tools I’m already familiar with is part of the joy I experienced doing my Project 365.
Aside from these technical mumbo jumbo (LOL Who says that? Really.), I learned a couple of things about myself. First, I have the ability to appreciate even the smallest and dumbest things around me. This explains why I don’t throw stuff away. I’m a hoarder and I hoard dumb things like boxes, all kinds of trinkets and old love letters. Second thing I learned about myself is I need to get a life.

I just looked at a lot of your Flickr collection. It must of been difficult to find something to take a photo of and you took a lot of photos in your room. I always wanted to do this, but I really don't think I would remember one per day.
