The Plan and My First Flash Animation

I considered doing a year-in-review post but I thought Baddie 2010 is a lot like Baddie 2009, so I guess I shouldn’t even bother. Besides, my Project 365 is about to end. I’ll probably just write another entry about it and some of my favorite days of 2010. Whatever. For this entry, though, I would like to show you people my very first Flash animation, which I made back in 2005 or 2006. Can’t really remember. All I know is it’s stupid and I’m glad I didn’t make another one.

I almost forgot (I tried really hard to forget) that I made this. I stumbled upon it when I was rummaging through my old web development stuff. I was looking for things that I could use for my web development and web design portfolio. Yes, I’m building a portfolio. I have a plan for 2011 and trust me when I say that me concocting a plan is something new. I hate to plan. I’m the Ultimate Flaker. I only like the beginnings of things, much like Don Draper.

Looking back at the last few months, I realize not making plans is a pain in the ass and a burning sensation in the crotch area. The Plan is to gather all the decent stuff (a couple of things) I’ve done so far and build my portfolio from there. I’m already doing freelance writing work, I might as well branch out to web development and design. I do need to relearn stuff, though, because the last time I did serious programming and design shit was way back in 2007. I also need to learn new things, especially things related to web design.

I realize engaging in freelance work would be quite a challenge for someone who only has less than 2 years of web development and design experience, but it needs to be done. I’m not really crazy about going back to a 9 to 5 working environment. Working independently outside the traditional corporate machine is where I see myself thriving. So yeah, I’m aiming to have a formidable portfolio, or at least a decent one, by the middle of 2011. That is The Plan. My New Year’s resolution is to stick to The Plan. Learn and relearn. Build a portfolio. Don’t get someone pregnant. Profit. Sounds easy enough. Am I right, Don?

Right. Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Happy New Year, everybody! Suck it, 2010!

OMG I AM ROLLING ON DA FLOOR. TRYING TO REMEMBER HOW TO BREATHE.

Good luck with freelancing! I just realized that I am either (also) not equipped to be working with fixed hours or just in need of an attitude adjustment when it comes to working… but anyway, good luck again! I'm sure 2011 will be relatively successful as long as you do not churn out stuff like dat ^^

    :D

I've been told a couple of times by former employers that I have the talent but my attitude at work is too rockstar-y. I agree. LOL WE ARE LIBRANS, WE SHUN FIXED WORKING HOURS! And don't worry, I am fully aware that this kind of Flash dickery will get me nowhere. Happy New Year, Carina! 8->
