Why I’m Asking You Out

Dear Little Miss Trouble,

Contrary to popular belief, these are not the reasons why I’m asking you out:

  • I want to boink you ASAP.
  • I want to boink your hot friend ASAP.
  • I want to boink someone, anyone, ASAP.

I’m asking you out because I want to find out stuff about you. And I’m not talking about your favorites. I’m talking about the stuff that makes you special. Stuff that you may not even know about yourself.

What do you do when you’re nervous? Do you play with your hair? Do you bite your lips? Do you sing under your breath?

What about when you’re irritated? When you’re excited? When you’re extremely happy? When you’re sad beyond reason? What about when you’re completely baffled (probably by my obscure pop culture references)?

What makes you smile? What are the different levels of your smile? Do you even have different types of smiles for different emotions? Do you smile when you’re trying to hide your depression? Do you smile when you’re thinking of naughty things (you naughty girl, you)? Will you smile once you realize you already have me in the palm of your hand?

Will I know if you’re lying? What about when you’re hiding something? Will you be observing me too? Will you look into my mind and my heart like a mutant telepath? Will you gaze into my soul? Will I feel like a deer in the headlights?

Do you laugh at corny jokes? How about embarrassing stories (I have a lot of those)? Do you giggle when it starts raining outside? How about when you hear a song you love? Do you play with your food when you’re bored? How about when you’re uncomfortable?

Will you wipe off ketchup on my face or will you just do that awkward wiping gesture until I realize that I eat like a 5-year old kid and I have something on my face?

This may all sound creepy, but these are the little things that make you special and unforgettable. It’s not about your vitals. It’s not about your favorites. Useless facts will come in handy later. Right now, it’s about who you are. It’s about who I am. And it’s about how much trouble we can get ourselves into.

xoxo,

Baddie

P.S. I sincerely hope you’re into mushy emo crap like this blog post or I’m going to feel like a total tool.
