Love Month Begins with Ideal Girl
It’s February and you all know what that means, right? It’s Love Month! I’m going to talk about love, romance and relationships all month and you can’t do anything to stop me! I shall start to bring the pain with this blog post about the cosmic torturer of men, the Ideal Girl. We guys have different visions of our Ideal Girls. Here’s mine:
She should be intelligent and smart. She should be able to engage me in conversations ranging from academic mumbo jumbo to dumb talk about shit. Literal shit.
She should have a sense of humor. She should be able to laugh at my jokes whether they’re complex and sophisticated, or shallow and stupid.
She should be able to hang with my interests no matter how strange they are. She should have no problem with my unhealthy obsession with pro wrestling and comic books. Also, beer.
She should be physically appealing. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a pretty girlfriend, right?
She should be a sex machine. Okay, that sounds over the top and creepy, but I’m just being honest. I don’t want a prude in bed.
I was fortunate enough to have met my Ideal Girl. I had the opportunity to spend a considerable amount of time with the personification of my idea of a perfect partner. No matter how corny it sounds, I’ll still say it: I felt complete.
But ultimately, she broke my heart.
I realize now that Ideal Girl is just that. An idea. And let’s face it, most ideas stink. So guess what. I won’t restrict myself with a shopping list of desirable qualities anymore. If things look, sound and feel right, then it’s right. To hell with Ideal Girl. Fight the power! FIGHT THE IDEAL GIRL POWER!
