This is a photo of myself with some of my brothers and sisters in UPLB MASS taken in December 2004 at UPLB’s Carabao Park. After an org activity, we decided to just dick around the park and bask in the simple beauty of a cool December evening while being surrounded by Christmas lights and friends. It was just us, the trees, the stars, the lights, and the pond. That was what being in UP Los Baños meant to me. Simple joys. Complex relationships. All under the warm shadow of Oble.

But enough about me and my nostalgia. I’m writing this post to invite you to share your UP photos that show how special UP is to you. Not only will you be sharing your UP moments, you will also get the chance to win face-rocking prizes!

As part of the UP Centennial celebration, SMART Communications and the UP Diliman College of Mass Communication invite all UP students, alumni, faculty, and employees to share their special UP moments by sending their UP pictures via the SMART MMS service.

If you don’t know how to use SMART’s MMS service, WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?! I’m kidding. It’s pretty easy, actually. Just text SET <phone model> to 211. When you receive the configuration settings, save it on your phone by choosing “Save All”. After activating the service, you can then register for the UPiktyuran Na! with SMART: UP Centennial SMART MMS Photo Competition, free of charge. Just text UP REG <Name / UP  Campus participant is from / position or title in UP> to 5355 (e.g. UP REG Gino Carteciano / UP Los Baños / Alumni). You will then receive a message confirming your registration.

Start sending your awesome MMS photo entries by creating an MMS message. Type UP <title of photo>, attach the photo taken with a camera phone and send to 5355 (e.g. UP My Awesome Photo). Each MMS photo entry costs only P1.00 so you can send in as many entries as you like!

If you’re not from UP,  you can still participate by joining the UPiktyuran Na! with SMART Polling Promo. View  the  entries and vote for your favorite by texting UPVOTE <image number> and send to 5355 (e.g. UPVOTE 29). Each text vote will cost only P1.00. The entry that garners the most number of votes until October 3, 2008 will receive the UPiktyuran Na! Texters Choice Award as well as a special prize from SMART.
