That image pretty much sums up what I feel every time I get stuck in traffic. That happens every day on my way to work and on my way back home. See, I work somewhere in Pasig City, and I live in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. More than one hour is the average time it takes for me to drive from one city to the other without heavy traffic. When the rehabilitation of the Alabang viaduct and some parts of the South Luzon Expressway started, a day without heavy traffic became a thing of myth and legends. I can bitch about it and curse it like it slaughtered my friends (all four of them), but I’m not gonna do that.
See, I believe I have the ability to see the good in people and situations. Philippine traffic may be the leading cause of increased cursing among Filipinos, but I think I can come up with several reasons why it can be a good thing. Well, at least for me. Observe:
- I get to put the strength of my bladder to the test. Yeah, what are you made of, bladder?! What are you made of?! Challenges make you stronger, bladder. Remember that.
- I get to listen to radio shows. The only time I get to listen to the radio is when I’m driving. Thanks to traffic, I get to catch Magic 89.9‘s Good Times with Mo Twister and The 6 ta’ 9 Show with CJ & Sarah. Awesome shows they are.
- I get some alone time. Traffic gives me the opportunity to contemplate on how boring my day was and how boring the next day will be. Also, most of my blog ideas come in alone times so, yeah. Awesome.
- I get to enjoy the scenery more. And by “scenery”, I mean “hot chicks in mini-skirts inside PUVs”.
- I get to increase the level of my patience. Since it’s being tested every day, it tends to get longer and harder to lose. That’s good news for the idiots from our office building’s second floor. Gahd, they’re such idiots.
- I get to… well, that’s about it. Hmm.
Heavy traffic may never be resolved in the Philippines, so maybe it’s about time that we stop complaining and start to see the good things that ca… ahh fuck it. Damn you, traffic! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!

Hahaha I can relate. I work in Bonifacio Global City while home is Dasmariñas Cavite..traffic in Emilio Aguinaldo is much worst than in South Super Highway. From a friend's estimate, gas from dasma to cavite for 22 days (assuming you work 5x/week) would be a staggering 9k including toll fees!
Thats why I didn't "invest" to buy a car..hehehee
