Friday morning while at work, I started preparing my new account at Page.ph for the eventual yupielbi.com migration. Since the connection at the office was like a snail on downers, backing up all yupielbi.com files was a whole day affair. Backing up the database was also a pain. But I managed to finish everything before the end of the workday. Yay!

At home, I did another backup of the files and the database. I’m OC like that. Thankfully, the connection was pretty okay so I got the chance to dick around the web a lot while doing the backups. Around midnight, I started the whole migration thing. It took me almost 10 hours to set up yupielbi.com, now yupielbi.org, at the new host. Complete with updating all relevant links on several sites and services, including Friendster, Feedburner, Google Analytics, Technorati, etc. It was all worth it. I needed to get away from Philhosting.net as soon as possible. The frequent downtimes were simply unacceptable.

I spent most of Saturday sleeping. Around 5pm, I got up and confirmed with the other moderators, a.k.a. The eLBizen Core, that our “meeting” was still on. Traffic in Calamba was hideous. I mean fucking fugly ugly. I reached UPLB around 9:30 PM. Two and a half hours from Sta. Rosa to Los Baños is just wrong.

There were only 6 moderators present (me, Jungzx, Dinaballs, Bosschicks, Semaphore, and Bogart), along with Mikalu (a former moderator) and Jam (Dinaballs and Mikalu’s stupid dog). Jam is a stupid dog because he keeps barking at me. Stupid dog. We made the most out of the few hours left before the stupid liquor ban at 1 AM. What the hell was the liquor ban for, anyway? That’s more than 24 hours away from the election! Fuckers.

We still enjoyed the night at Iziz though. Discussion topics involved music videos, radio stations, work, TV shows, and emo boys kissing each other. Yeah, that’s just wrong.

So yeah, it was a fun night. All the hair-pulling stress brought about by the site migration was totally removed from existence because of a couple of hours with friends. Good times. You can see some more pics at Jungzx’s Multiply. By the way, can I just say that Multiply is freakin’ awesome? No? You suck.

Anhyoo, just so you know, yupielbi.com is no more. Now, there is only yupielbi.org. It’s not as dramatic as it sounds, I’m just bored. Update your links please! Thanks!

Can you tell more about your problems with Philhosting.net? I’m actually planning to get a hosting + domain there.

Baddie - 10 Dec 07 at 11:47:38

Well, Marz, aside from the frequent downtimes, their tech support sucks. But I dunno, it’s been months since I left philhosting.net. Maybe they’ve improved?

i just want to ask what’s the name of your current webhost. I am about to transfer to philhosting, coz their plan is cheap and i actually paid 550pesos already. but now their site is down so after reading your post, and some other bad reviews, i am having second thought. the transfer is not yet done so i can still opt to renew with my current host (pero lugi ako sa bayad ko sa philhost :( ). But mahal kasi ng current subscription ko, 413pesos monthly. so i am looking for cheaper one but with good support. thanks!

Sent you an email, Maline. Philhosting is getting pwnt in the search engines. Lots of negative feedback in the search results. Tsk, tsk.
