This entry is part 1 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

I love lists, and this is why for 10 blog posts, I’m going to share my top 5 lists of stuff. And I’m going to start with my Top 5 applications on my Windows machine. Yeah, Windows can suck in hundreds of ways, but beggars can’t be choosers, right? Well, unless when I’m at work where I use a Mac. Mmmm… a Maaaac.

#5: Yahoo! Messenger - These days, I won’t be able to live without an Internet connection (OK, that’s an exaggeration, but you know what I mean), and I can’t have my Intarnetz without Yahoo!’s instant messaging client, Yahoo! Messenger. It serves as my primary form of communication with friends, co-workers, and creepy strangers. Being on the Internet just looking at porn sites can be so lonely, so an occasional chat (or even a whole day conference) with friends can make the emptiness of cyberspace a little bit warmer.

#4: EditPad Lite - This is a free text editor that I use as a Notepad replacement. I don’t do a lot of (OK, I don’t do any) programming on my Windows machine, so I just use a text editor as a “buffer” for ideas and a container where I dump seemingly useless text that may become useful as I go about my business. EditPad Lite has a lot of features not present in Notepad, but its tab feature alone makes it worth the quick download for me.

This entry is part 9 of 12 in the series Weekly Haul

war is for heroes

Thanks to my vacation mode, which technically just lasted 5 days but my mind stayed on it for two weeks, I missed a week of the Weekly Haul. So this week, I’ll be talking about 2 weeks worth of comics. Yay!

Civil War is still fresh in everybody’s mind, what with all The Initiative shit going on. But that’s not the only war in comics right now. This week, there’s going to be a clusterfuck of DC characters when World War III commences in the pages of the weekly comic series 52. And over at Marvel, the countdown has already begun for World War Hulk, where the Hulk basically punches everybody in the face! Probably even Aunt May! If she’s still alive.

Anyhoo, let’s start with the comic book goodness, shall we? And as usual, SPOILERS bitches!

This entry is part 4 of 4 in the series Ilocos Locos

After 3 days of The MASStig Ilocos Adventure Team being on the road, dicking around at the beach, and violating songs via videoke over a river, we spent our 4th and last day appreciating Philippine history, Chavit’s Baluarte, and kalesa rides in Vigan. And of course, there was the road trip back to Manila. Like all great road trips, the journey back home always seems the shortest. But it was still fun, though. Anyway, here’s the last batch of photos chronicling the soon-to-be legendary Ilocos adventure of UPLB MASS. Ladies and gentlefreaks, Baddie & UPLB MASS’ Invasion of The North - Day 4:

This is me in front of the oldest McDonald’s in the whole world! Seriously.

Out of the blue, I’ve been challenged to participate in a Videoke Battle somewhere in Shaw. Fools! My rendition of “Hiram” shall dominate! Go for 100!

This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series Ilocos Locos

After Day 2, 6 of us left Ilocos to go back to Manila. And then there were 11. But that didn’t stop the remaining members of The MASStig Ilocos Adventure Team from having some more fun. For Day 3, we went to a nearby river, which we affectionately call “Ang Ilog na Malupet”, that had cottages on top of it. But those cottages didn’t make the river “malupet”. Inside those cottages were videoke machines! I mean, videoke machines! Inside cottages! Elevated by bamboo foundations over a freakin’ river! And after that, we visited the 414-year old (more or less) Paoay Church and then we ate exotic Ilocos dishes. And to end the day, like the first 2 days, we let alcohol put us to sleep. Now, in photo-speak, let me show you Baddie & UPLB MASS’ Invasion of The North - Day 3:

This is the M.I.A. Team heading towards our cottage over “Ang Ilog na Malupet”.
