This entry is part 6 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

In my world, no form of entertainment is better than a good movie in surround sound and in widescreen. I actually prefer to watch movies at home, but it doesn’t hurt to see a big-budget summer blockbuster at the theater with “movie buddies”. I love a whole lot of movies, but there’s a select few that I highly regard as “awesome cinematic movie films”. Yeah, I know. Stupid term. I hate it when I’m just padding an introduction paragraph.

#5: Meet the Parents - I love De Niro comedies. Not that there’s a lot of them, but I love them nonetheless. And the best of the bunch is this one with Ben Stiller. I mean, come on. Any movie with a lead character named “Gaylord Focker” should be in everybody’s “funniest movies” list. I can watch this a gajabillion times, and I won’t get tired of the ridiculous yet scary scenes. I say “scary” since they play with my fear of meeting my future wife’s parents and relatives.

#4: The Girl Next Door - OK I admit I can be a sucker for good romantic comedies sometimes, but this one’s my favorite. The chick’s hot. The story brings nostalgic episodes. Nice soundtrack. And did I mention the chick’s hot? Yeah, I’m a huge Elisha Cuthbert fan. If I’ll be given a chance, I’ll bring her to one of those San Diego hotels and… okaaaay. I stop now.

This entry is part 5 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

I spend an average of 8 hours a day on weekdays online. During weekends, it can range from 4 to 12 hours, depending on how my social life is faring. It’s fairly obvious that there are websites that are regular stops for me in the information superhighway. And you’re about to meet them. Just to be fair, for my top 5 list of my favorite websites, I’m not going to include my blog. Yeah, the one you’re reading now, dummy.

#5: WWE.com - Being a fan of WWE, it follows that I always check out their official website. When I can’t resist (almost each and every time), I look at spoilers for Raw and Smackdown! After reading it, I’ll pretend that it just didn’t happen. I’m weird. Also, it helps that I can get official announcements about events and Superstars on the site. It gives me the feeling of intense fandom membership. Yay!

#4: Newsarama - What can I say? I love comics and I love news about comics. And what better site to deliver comics news than Newsarama? The community is a tightly knit group of creators, journalists, critics, and fans. I visit the site every day, although I don’t participate in the forum section a lot. Actually, I think I’ve just posted a couple of messages on a couple of threads, and that’s it. I suck.

This entry is part 4 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

Before I became a comic geek, I was first a couch potato. OK, I still am, but not as zombie-like as before. I choose my shows now. And by “choose”, I mean “look for the Jack TV or HBO or AXN or Star Movies on”. Seriously, TV has become a mentor to me, teaching me things like sex, love, and bad grammar. Although, I think I can live without it now, with all the Interwebs shit and all. But there will always be TV shows that would always keep me coming back in front of the devilish tube.

#5: 24 - Initially, it was all about Elisha Cuthbert. I surf other channels when it’s not her scene. But eventually, I discovered the pure awesomeness of Jack freakin’ Bauer! I mean, seriously. I thought MacGvyer and The A-Team kicked ass, but Jack Bauer will eat them for breakfast! And then Sydney Bristow for lunch. Afternoon delight, yo.

#4: Smallville - This is the only TV show that I’m collecting on DVD. Well, so far. I currently have Seasons 1-3, and I can’t wait to get Seasons 4 and 5. It has everything. Hot chicks, special effects, humor, adventure, and dozens of easter eggs for comic book geeks. Never been a fan of the Superman mythos, but this show changed my mind. I’d take this over any of the Superman movies any day.

This entry is part 3 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

I usually base my judgement in what comics to buy on writers, then artists, then hype, then characters. So by giving you my top 5 list of comic book characters, I’m not saying that I’m reading their solo monthly books. Well, for some of them, yes. I just find these characters appealing and kick-ass.

#5: Iron Man - Yeah, he’s got a movie coming out soon, but that’s not the reason why I like him. Never been a fan of Tony Stark in my 10-year comic book reading career. Well, that is until Civil War. Most fans think that during Civil War, Tony Stark became the ultimate Marvel douchebag. He did some things that, for people who aren’t really familiar with his character, are downright villainous. And that, ladies and gentlefreaks, is why I’m now an Iron Man fan. He’s a hero who will do what he thinks is right for the greater good, no matter how evil it may look for others.

#4: Fantastic Four - OK I’m counting them as one. Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing. Stan Lee’s harbingers of the modern super-hero comics age. Marvel’s “First Family”. Starring in “The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine!” Constant thorn on Dr. Doom’s side. I occasionally read FF issues before and I wasn’t really hooked. Until recently, that is. They’re just fun to read. I even watch their new “kiddie” animated series on YouTube. Good times.

This entry is part 2 of 10 in the series Top 5 Lists

I don’t have the time to play all my Playstation 2 games these days, due to the fact that I’m slowly regaining my social life. But I can still remember a couple of months ago that my life revolved around work, driving to and from work, eating, sleeping, reading comics, and playing games on my PS2. And during that time, I had a few favorites that deprived me of much wanted sleep. And here they are:

#5: Rumble Roses - I love pro-wrestling. I love hot women. Although I would prefer to wrestle hot women, I’m happy with making (and sometimes just watching) them wrestle half-naked in a wrestling ring or a puddle of mud. Call me a perv if you want, but I think this game is genius! I mean, come on. I wasn’t surprised that it got a sequel even though there’s nothing special about its gameplay. It’s all about the hot busty ladies doing mind-boggling moves to each other.

#4: X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse - I wasn’t able to play the original X-Men Legends game, and this one made me regret it. It’s fairly obvious that I’m a comic book geek, so seeing a bunch of X-Men characters move around and speak using awesome voices is already heaven for me. Add to that an addicting gameplay and an open-ended story, and voila! Mutant magic at the palm of my hands.
