It’s pretty obvious that I’m not just a casual comic book fan. I live, eat, and breathe comics. I love the art and the mythology. I cringe at gory death scenes. I cheer for the underdog. I giggle at the ridiculously hot half-naked women. I admire the heroism. I read in awe the grandeur of megalomaniac villains. I thrill at battles of cosmic proportions. And between my weekly comic fixes, I turn to the web for digital comic geekery.

Marvel. I’m a Marvel whore so it’s already a habit for me to visit the site to get updates on comics on sale, news on upcoming comics, blogs by editors and creators, wallpapers, and I even check out the character profiles when I have nothing else to do. This doesn’t mean I don’t visit the DC website. I do. I check out comics on sale and some other stuff when I’ve already exhausted my Marvel cravings.

Newsarama. This is my main source of news and interviews regarding my beloved comic book industry. I enjoy the creator interviews, as well as the reactions of the comic fans in the comments section. I also take notes on what upcoming comics I should buy and what I should stay the hell away from. Sometimes, the reviews section help me in deciding whether I should go and pick up the comics I didn’t include in my weekly haul.

I also read blogs about comics and related media like 2 Guys Buying Comics, Chris’ Invincible Super-Blog, Kung Fu Rodeo, Occasional Heroine, Seven Hells!, Ye Olde Comick Booke Blogge, and The Zombie Mallet. All are as ineteresting and colorful as comics itself. Mighty fine readin’, these blogs are.

But even with blogs, and web comics too, being fun sources of comic book goodness, nothing beats the smell of new comics. You can take it anywhere, even in San Diego day spas. You can read it anytime, unless of course it’s night time and you don’t have electricity of candles. But I digress. The bottomline here is comics is awesome. Period.
