Prodigal

Last night, I moved out of our apartment in the Ortigas extension. I will, again, drive to and from work every freakin’ day. And so you can put it into context, I’m from Sta. Rosa, Laguna. I’m from the dirrty South, ‘yo. What’s so dirrty about the South, anyway? And what’s with the typo?

Moving out wasn’t as smooth as I hoped it would be. First, I haven’t had a good night’s sleep the whole week, thanks to the whole Convergys fiasco. I was so fuckin’ sleepy since around lunch time yesterday, so packing up my stuff was such a hassle. And speaking of hassles, my rommate’s ladyfriend accidentally locked our room so I wasn’t able to get my stuff in there initially. Good thing I’m a master at picking locks. Well, not actually picking locks, I’m just very good at opening locked doors. Just give me a sturdy calling card or a cellphone load card, and I’m your regular break-in king. King! And if the cards don’t work, my trusty “Baddie Superkick” will do the job, followed by me screaming “freeze!” and pretending my hand is a gun. Try it sometime.

It wasn’t all that bad, though. I managed to get my ex to help me out in packing and moving my stuff. She’s an angel. A hot angel. Ex, remind me why we’re not a couple again?

Now that I’m back in Sta. Rosa again, I miss commuting from the apartment to the office, and back. Yes, I miss all the freaks from the daily commute. I miss the Ortigas extension traffic, but not so much since I now have the daily SLEX traffic again. Whooptifuckin’doo. I miss having a Grill Queen dinner while watching local TV. Well, it’s the Grill Queen dinner I miss. Being trapped in local TV hell, not so much.

So that I won’t miss the Ortigas extension apartment too much, I’ve come up with a list of 10 good things about moving back into my mom’s basement. Peruse.

  1. Home-cooked meals. No more instant pancit canton dinners. No more weird-tasting Burger Machine burgers. No more smog-marinated pork loins. I’ll miss the grilled tofu, though.
  2. More interwebs time. I had no internet access back at the apartment. Now, after eating dinner, I can go online. Yes, as part of my job, I’m online from 9 am to 6 pm every weekday, but I just can’t get enough of this interwebs thingie. Plus, more time to blog about mundane things that happened to me, my non-sense point-of-view about stuff, and other stuff like a New York hair transplant. Ka-ching!
  3. Cable TV. Yesss! JackTV, I miss the hell out of you!
  4. More alone time. Yes, I value alone time very much. I didn’t have enough of it back at the apartment. Now, I have more alone time for my “alone stuff”. *wink wink nudge nudge pump pump*
  5. Friends. I can easily drop by CVG Alabang and maybe even UPLB for some R&R with old friends.
  6. Practice of my driving skills. I’m kidding. I just needed to fill out #6.
  7. Comics. I can now re-read my old issues every freakin’ night! Yes, that’s how lonely I am. Plus, I can now go to my comic book shop on Thursday nights to get first dibs on new releases.
  8. PS2. I know, I could have brought my PS2 to the apartment so I didn’t have to endure Bakekang and Atlantika, but that would be selfish since there were other people in the apartment who don’t want to just sit there and watch me play my stupid games.
  9. No bills. No water bills. No electricity bills. No rent. Yup, I’m a leech. Thank you, parentals!
  10. Airconditioned room. Hey, summer’s a couple of months away. And 2007 is forecasted to be the warmest year on record. Call me shallow, but the combination of sweat and smog doesn’t float my boat, buddy.

hmpfrt! you didn't miss me? hehehe…
one more thing, wala ka ng hot housemate! bleh!

naiintriga lang ako ha (pati si iza)… may away ba kayo ng roomate mo?
or one reason why you left your hot housemate and TV-buddy is, hindi mo masyado kasundo ang rommie mo?

we (me and iza) were ranting about it last night. sana sa mas malapit nalangkami tumira if ever ganito yung situation. kaya nga swerte namin nung naconvince kita para pumalit umalis naming housemate para di masyadong mahal ang bills.

ngayon na wala kana, huhuhuhuhu! anlaki ng rent namin plus other bills. the worst part is the freaking traffic! ok lang siguro na malaki ang rent pag convenient and accesible yung place.

hay, wala lang… wala lang akong karamay kay para kay Bakekang!

Hot housemate? You? Hahahaha! Aalis naman talaga 'ko pagbalik ni Jay di ba? When I find a new place sa Pasig, invite ko kayo ni Iza to join me para may 2 hot housemates na ulit ako. Studio-type kukunin ko para masaya.
