If you're new here, you may want to add some dickery to your feed reader by subscribing to my RSS feed. High five!
So I’ve been busy this past week at work. Never had that amount of tasks served to me before. Been assisting a fellow employee with a spyware problem (IE can be the biggest pain in the ass!), rolling out a sale on the PinoyDVD Online Store, and doing some CSS/HTML/PHP/Photoshop Kung Fu on the PinoyDVD Forum. I usually visit my regular interweb hangouts at work, but with all the tasks this week, I just didn’t have the time to dick around yUPieLBi, Newsarama, Digg, and The Man Blog Forum at work. And I’m online from 9 am to 6 pm! At home, the communal PC is always occupied by any one of my three siblings during weeknights. So what does a surf-hungry dude do to get his daily fix of interwebs dickery? Be Smart.

Yeah. I bought a Smart SIM card this week. I was on Globe for the past half-decade, but when I heard about the Smart 3G High Speed Internet for only Php10 per 30 minutes, I just had to bite. I connected my N80, with my Smart SIM, into my personal PC (personal Personal Computer?!), and voila! Interwebs fucking connection. It’s a tad slower than the usual DSL, but it’s definitely faster than the painfully slow Dial-up. And aside from the longing for interwebs connection in my room, I was just plain tired of repetitive forwarded messages and inane random SMS rants from people with Globe unlimited text messaging. Now, my Globe SIM is in my N6260, sitting in a corner all day. I only check it twice a day now. Once after waking up, and again before going to sleep. I call it my SMS spam filter.
I received one “funny” forwarded text message a few weeks ago that basically says friendship is measured by what SIM card you have, and only true friends will text you even when they’re not on unlimited text messaging. I guess it’s true. True, and quite sad really. Nobody’s texting me on my Smart number. Well, except for a few kind souls who don’t mind spending a few pesos on keeping in touch with me. Angels.
Aside from testing Smart’s 3G HS Internet, which I now declare “freakin’ awesome”, I’m also trying out Flock, Firefox’s bastard “social browser” child.
Since I’m a Firefox fan, I enjoy using it. I especially like the easy image uploading feature which makes uploading and posting images on forum boards and blogs such a breeze. I haven’t used the built-in blogging platform though since I’m already comfortable blogging right on the WordPress admin section. Since I’m also a Firefox addons junkie, I won’t leave Firefox anytime soon. Flock still isn’t compatible with most FF addons like Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer, which is essential for someone like me who uses FF on multiple computers and who likes to keep one set of bookmarks on all of them. So for now, I only use Flock for blogging since FF keeps messing up some of the pop-up windows WordPress uses.
Before you say I’m getting too geeky on you, let me present my retarded suggestions for additional Flock taglines (currently, they have “I Flock”).

Like you, I’m a fan of Firefox and has been since it was called “Firebird”. I also use Flock once in a while. And just like you, I love my Firefox add-ons. Can’t live without ‘em.
Cool blog! :D
I’m lightyears behind in technology. I just need to keep coming back here to keep myself up to par. Nice blog.
@jepoy: Man, your cable provider sucks. lolz
@poell: Yeah I’ve tried Globe’s Live Streaming. I watched a portion of GMA’s Idol ko si Kap (did I get the title right?). Basta nandun si Bong Revilla. I tried to access ABS-CBN’s stream, but it always gave me an error message. And yeah, it’s good to know I’m not the only dude having problems with Technorati these days. lololz
@Jaypee & Mon: Appreciation yay!
